Merchant Agreement

Last updated: February 2026

This is a plain-language starting draft. Have local counsel review it before launch.

1. Listing

You warrant that all business information (name, address, license numbers, menu, prices) is accurate. You are responsible for keeping availability and hours up to date.

2. Food safety & licensing

You must hold all licenses required by Illinois and your municipality (business license, health permit, food handler certifications, liquor license if applicable). Locally Starved is not responsible for food safety incidents.

3. Payments

You configure your own payment provider (Square, Stripe, PayPal, or cash). Locally Starved does not touch your order revenue on the free or Grow tiers.

4. Subscription fees

Community (free) — 0% platform fee. Grow — 5% of delivered-order subtotal, billed monthly via Stripe. Featured — 10% of delivered-order subtotal, billed monthly via Stripe, includes featured placement. Fees apply only to delivered orders in each billing cycle.

5. Cancellation & refunds

You control your own refund policy. Publish it clearly on your menu. Consumer disputes may be escalated to Locally Starved.

6. Taxes

You are responsible for collecting and remitting sales tax. Configure your payment provider accordingly.

7. Termination

You may downgrade or delete your merchant profile any time via your dashboard. We may remove listings that violate laws or these Terms.

8. Governing law

Illinois law governs. Venue: LaSalle County.
